You gushed out of my mouth like a wildflower would
Out of the red soil of barren desires
When watered with promises
Of a dampness
Like that of the ones poured before.
You have learned to reach far into the earth
To suck in all you can
To survive till you will
In the dryness of the love
That had once grown into a groveling green.
In wilting lies a beauty
I have come to possess
As it transformed me continually
With every trickle of you
Which escaped my lips.
Your petals have fed on my emotion
And the burst of color has
Formed all that is
Grey while I
Perch on the
freedom of your expansion.
The wild wind shall come soon
And raise a storm on my surface,
Calmly eroding all it can
To whisk away the remnants of
My child of hope.
Yes, what is till the last drop of you
Shall end and all that’ll be left behind
Will be the crushed brittleness
Of an aura lost in the rivulet of my
Obscure memories.
