You meticulously re-build your world everyday
What shall happen when you're no more?
Your world shall float in my skies for a while
And mine shall swim away in time
Drifting into our precious box of nothingness
Which happily engulfs us all.
But, breathe
And smile.
Break all that you make
And cry.
That is how we live
Softly humming our little stories
Until we die
And disappear like
We never were;
Like that faint aroma
We lost to the wind
Yesterday.

This is lovely. It's remarkable how you've found joy in something that should make one sad - the fear of being forgotten.
ReplyDeleteIs it joy that you see or veiled resignation? For what is the point of struggling against that which is inevitable, that which cannot be conquered?
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like it. Thank you.
True. But there is a lingering optimism, a sense of hope - perhaps fueled by the inevitable. Something that says 'let us enjoy life this one last time'.
ReplyDeleteI'd not seen it the way you did. That's a beautiful interpretation. :)
